Working Hours

You would spend a lot of your time travelling around your sales area. This may mean local, national or international travel. When not on the road, you may be based in a sales office or you could work at home.

To become a sales representative in the IT industry, usually you would need to complete a VET qualification in information, digital media and technology or information technology, and have some experience working in the information technology field.

You may also become a sales representative in the IT industry through a traineeship in Information, Digital Media and Technology or Information Technology. Employers generally require a junior secondary school certificate or equivalent.

Additionally you can become a sales representative in the IT industry by completing a relevant degree in information technology or computing.
